National Young Leaders Day

Our Student Leaders represented the school wonderfully at the Halogen Young Leaders Day! Their engagement, enthusiasm, and responsibility throughout the event were great to see. They heard from inspiring speakers including:

🔹 Caitlin Bassett – Former Australian Diamonds netball captain, sharing insights on teamwork and perseverance.
🔹 Kate Kirwin – 2024 WA Young Australian of the Year, founder of She Codes Australia, encouraging innovation and breaking barriers in STEM.
🔹 Luke Springer “Mr Luke” – Teacher, content creator and author of his new children’s book, inspiring students to embrace challenges.
🔹 Brad Sheppard – Former West Coast Eagles AFL player, speaking about resilience and leadership in sport and life.

It was a memorable experience, and some of the leaders are already thinking of ways we can bring these lessons into our school community. Some purchased the Halogen pin, a symbol of their commitment to leadership and making a positive impact. The halogen symbol is based on the image of a halogen light and represents how leaders can make contributions and shine brightly together.
