Dear Parents and Carers,
The children have returned with great energy, and the school is already buzzing with activity. A sincere thank you to our P&C for their ongoing support and for funding the new PA system. The music now playing across the school each morning has lifted spirits, students and staff alike are loving it.
Small Group Tuition Project (SGT)
We are excited to share that Bibra Lake Primary School has been selected to participate in the Department of Education’s SGT project, commencing this term.
- Focus: Numeracy intervention
- Lead Teacher: Jaime Mangano, delivering sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays (half-day blocks).
- Approach: Action research exploring
- How to improve targeted student performance in mathematics.
- Which high-quality interventions complement classroom teaching without duplication.
- How to reduce teacher planning and intervention workload.
We will trial three intervention models over the next 18 months:
- Semester 2, 2025 – Enhanced quality classroom planning and instruction.
- Semester 1, 2026 – Bond Blocks program.
- Semester 2, 2026 – Learning Through Doing program.
The findings will be shared with staff and system partners to support future planning.
