A Message from our Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we reach the end of another busy and productive term at Bibra Lake Primary School, I want to take a moment to thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in helping our students thrive.

This term has seen some fantastic achievements across classrooms, specialist programs, and whole-school events. Students have shown strong engagement, staff have worked tirelessly to support learning and wellbeing, and our school community has come together in many positive ways.

A few key updates as we head into the break:

  • New School Siren: Our new siren and PA system will be installed over the holidays and a big thank you to our P&C for their generous financial contribution toward the installation of the new system. Their ongoing support continues to make a meaningful difference to school improvements.
  • Shade Structure – Election Commitment: We have also received formal notification that the school will receive a $70,000 funding allocation as part of a 2025 State Election commitment to support shade infrastructure.
  • Staffing Stability: Following our recent workforce planning, we’re pleased to share that Mrs Beauchamp and Ms Patching have been appointed to permanent positions at our school. This ensures continuity and supports long-term planning as we prepare for 2026.
  • Small Group Tuition (SGT): We are excited to share that Bibra Lake Primary School has been invited to participate in the Department of Education’s SGT project, commencing in Term 3, 2025. This initiative is part of a system-wide effort to strengthen student outcomes in literacy and numeracy, while also positively contributing to teacher workload and wellbeing. In Term 3, Jaime Mangano will lead our SGT program on Mondays and Tuesday for half a day each. This initiative targets students who need additional support in numeracy and is designed to complement classroom teaching through focused intervention sessions. More information on this program will be provided at the beginning of Term 3.
  • Staffing: Mrs Pratt and Mrs Browning will continue the current arrangement into Term 3 and we welcome back Mrs Snook-Zacker to Room 1 following leave. Mrs McCrackan will be on leave for the last week of Term 2 and the first week of Term 3 with Ms Mangano taking on the Associate Principal role with Mrs Bass. Staffing replacement arrangements for Ms Mangano have yet to be finalised.  Mrs Ellis is due back in Room 14 at the start of Term 3 after taking leave and we’d like to thank Mrs Beauchamp for her hard work and effort over this past semester.
  • Japanese Program Update – Semester 2: We would like to inform families that Ms Yuen will be taking leave during Semester 2. After extensive searching, we were unable to secure a replacement teacher of Japanese. As a result, we will endeavour to continue Sensei Yuen’s program through an Arts lens for the remainder of the year. Mrs Beauchamp will be delivering Arts lessons through the context of Japanese, with a strong focus on Culture and Acknowledgement, as outlined in the Arts curriculum. Classroom teachers will continue to provide opportunities for students to engage in Visual Arts within their classrooms, ensuring coverage of this important learning area continues across the school.
  • NAIDOC Week Connection: A group of our students has had the unique opportunity to work with Olman Walley at Lakelands Senior High School, preparing a collaborative dance performance for NAIDOC celebrations next week. It has been a powerful cultural learning experience, and we are proud of their involvement.

As always, I’m incredibly proud of the efforts of our students and the dedication of our staff. I hope the upcoming holiday provides a chance for everyone to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with loved ones.

We look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday, 22 July for the start of Term 3.
